If you find the answer to a rubix cube, you're pretty happy the first bunch of times that you solve it, and you're proud when people respect you for it. When you climb a mountain you thought beyond your ability, you're ecstatic and proud. When you drive a unicycle. Or a bicycle. Or a car. The very first time, and some time afterwards, is sooo amazing. You've accomplished something you didn't think possible. People (as a general rule) stop being impressed with themselves on a fairly balanced curve. Most people keep feeling proud for things that are fairly simplistic. Some people feel proud any time they do anything. Some people get past it.
